Multifamily Community Resources

State law (ORS 90.318) requires property owners of apartments, condominiums and other multifamily communities (with 5 or more units) to provide recycling service along with garbage in the following cities and urban growth boundary areas: Creswell, Eugene, Florence and Springfield.

Clear instructions and signage are effective first steps in promoting recycling and reducing contamination in multifamily communities.

Lane County is conducting a multifamily property pilot project. The pilot is seeking to improve multifamily recycling systems by distributing resources and tools to improve the quantity and quality of recyclables collected from multi-tenant locations.

Check out the tenant education resources we have to offer below.  Request and distribute how-to flyers and/or recycle guides, post reminders and be sure the bins are labeled and instructions are visible and understandable.

Please note: Decals can only be affixed to collection containers owned by you. Please contact your garbage and recycling company regarding placement of signage on their containers.
