Lane County has selected Jude Anderson to serve as the new Community & Economic Development manager following a competitive nationwide search.

“We are delighted that Jude has joined us to take on the important role in county government and are eagerly anticipating the work ahead,” said Lane County Policy Director Steve Adams. “Our earliest conversations with Jude evidenced his creativity and strategic mindset developed through experiences working in communities across the country.”

Anderson will update the County’s strategic plan for Community & Economic Development programs. He will also support vibrant and prosperous local economies in part through creating partnerships across the region. Anderson started in his new position in April.

“This region has so many diverse, unique assets and truly upstanding and dynamic leaders across the public and private landscape. I am energized and grateful for the opportunity to serve Lane County from the Coast to Cascades,” said Anderson.

Anderson graduated with honors from University of Texas at Austin with dual Bachelor of Arts in English and anthropology. He received his Master of Urban Planning from New York University, Wagner School of Public Service. He has over a decade of experience in the private and government sectors as an economic development strategist and project manager in a range of real estate, development, and planning efforts in communities across eight states and sixteen metro areas. Anderson comes to Lane County from Houston, Texas where he led the Economic Development Practice at The Goodman Corporation, including administering the East Downtown Revitalization Authority.
