Deeds and Records Move

The Lane County Deeds & Records Office is relocating from the Elections Office at 10th and Lincoln in Eugene back to the County’s Public Service Building at 8th and Oak in Eugene.

The move will be effective starting on Thursday, August 21, 2025. The last day for services at the current location will be Tuesday, August 19. Deeds and Records services will be unavailable on Wednesday, August 20, and the new-old location will open for service on Thursday, August 21.

When does the move happen?

Services begin at the new location on Thursday, August 21. Starting on that day most Deeds & Records services will be located in its former location at 125 E. 8th Avenue in Eugene.

Both locations will be closed on Wednesday, August 20, for the move.

What services are moving?

The services that will move back to the ground floor of the Public Service Building (125 E. 8th Avenue, Eugene) are:

  • Real Property Recording (including deeds, titles or interest to real property located in Lane County)
  • Marriage Licenses and Ceremonies
  • Domestic Partnership Declarations
  • Property Value Appeals Board

Are any Deeds & Records services staying at the Elections Office on W. 10th?

No. All Deeds & Records services are moving back to the Public Service Building. The Elections Office will remain at the W. 10th Avenue location.

Why are you moving?

In late 2023, we combined two functions of the County Clerk’s Office (Deeds & Records and Elections) with the goal of improving staffing efficiency and providing better support for the Elections Office. While this change did lead to improved staffing efficiency, it did not meet the expectations of our Deeds & Records customers, who found the new location less convenient. Additionally, the Elections Office space was too limited to accommodate the public research library, which had to remain at the Public Service Building, and we were unable to keep the library open enough hours each week to satisfy the public demand.

We will continue to reassign Deeds & Records employees to the Elections Office during peak election season so we don’t lose that important support for conducting elections in Lane County.

How do I get there?

The address is 125 E. 8th Avenue, Eugene, OR 97401. It’s located on the corner of 8th Avenue and Pearl Street. You can see a Google Map and get directions online.

Where do I park?

There is a parking lot with paid parking spots located on Pearl Street between 7th and 8th avenues. Some of the parking in that lot is permit only, so pay attention to the signs as you enter. There is also metered on-street parking available on the surrounding city streets.

Are the hours changing, too?

No. Service hours will remain the same for both: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday–Friday.
