In a disaster emergency, HELP/OK signs are away for residents to communicate their status to first responders.

How they work:
- “Help” side: If you need help, display the “HELP” side of the sign. This alerts responders that you need help.
- “OK” side: If you are safe and do not need help, display the “OK” side. This allows first responders to move on to others who may require immediate assistance.
- Visibility: The signs are typically designed to be easily seen from the street so responders can tell whether they need to stop at your location.
Why they are useful:
Efficient resource allocation and improved response times: Responders can quickly assess the situation and prioritize areas with the most immediate needs. By knowing which homes need help, responders can focus their efforts on those locations, potentially saving lives and reducing suffering.
