Main Street Development

Main Streets are the heartbeat of a thriving region where people connect, businesses grow, and the character of the community comes to life. Lane County prioritizes its Main Street development with the goal of investing in the economic, social, and cultural heart of our communities. Main Streets help support local businesses, strengthen small-town identities, and create attractive environments drawing in residents and visitors.

Lane County can support Main Streets in revitalizing and stimulating aging infrastructure, ensuring that community centers remain safe, vibrant, and accessible for all.

National Register of Historic Places

The National Register of Historic Places is the United States' official list of historic buildings, structures, sites, districts, and objects deemed worthy of preservation. Lane County has over 10,000 registered historic sites. Receiving a listing can open opportunities for preservation grants, tax incentives, and technical assistance. Historic sites and properties become cultural assets that stimulate our local economy by drawing in visitors, creating jobs, and supporting local businesses.
