Deeds and Records Move

The Lane County Deeds & Records Office is relocating from the County’s Public Service Building at 8th and Oak in downtown Eugene to the Elections Office at 10th and Lincoln in Eugene.

The move will be effective starting on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.

When does the move happen?

Services begin at the new location on Tuesday, December 5. Starting on that day most Deeds & Records services will be located at 275 W. 10th Avenue in Eugene.

What services are moving?

The services that will move to the Elections Office (275 W. 10th Avenue, Eugene) are:

  • Real property recording (including deeds, titles or interest to real property located in Lane County)
  • Marriage licenses and ceremonies (We are currently not accepting appointments for Civil Ceremonies but hope to have more information soon. Please check back in early December for more information.)
  • Domestic partnership declarations
  • Property value appeals

Are any Deeds & Records services staying in the original location?

Yes. The public research library for real property records will remain at the Public Service Building (125 E. 8th Avenue) due to the amount of space the self-serve computers require. One staff person will be available to assist with research at this location. Please bring cash or a check to pay for certified copies and/or other materials. Credit/debit cards are not accepted.

Why are you moving?

Deeds & Records is part of the County Clerk’s Office, along with Elections. Bringing both functions of the County Clerk’s Office together in one location will make it more efficient to staff. It will also allow the small team to pivot more easily and support Elections during its busiest times.

We also think it will be easier for customers to access the new location. It’s close to the downtown area and public transit. There is also a small parking lot behind the building where customers can park for free.

How do I get there?

The address is 275 W. 10th Avenue, Eugene, OR 97401. It’s located on the corner of Lincoln Street and W. 10th Avenue. You can see a Google Map and get directions online.

The building is located two blocks west of Lane Transit District’s Eugene Bus Station on W. 10th Avenue.

Where do I park?

There is a small parking lot behind the building where customers can park for free while they conduct their business with the County Clerk’s Office. There is also free or metered on-street parking available on the surrounding city streets.

Are the hours changing, too?

Service hours will remain the same for Deeds and Records: 9 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 4 p.m., Monday–Friday.

Beginning September 24th, 2024, the Public Research Library's hours are Tuesday & Wednesday 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. & 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

During an election, the office will have expanded hours to provide election related services.

Will this affect elections work?

Yes. It will make it more efficient for the entire County Clerk’s Office (which is a small team) to provide support during elections. This is a good thing!
