Ballot Dropsites

Here is the list of Official Ballot Dropsites.  The Ballot Dropsites will be open on April 30, 2026 through 8 p.m. November 19, 2026.


Upcoming Deadlines and Important Dates:

  • April 3rd, 2026 – Military and overseas ballots mailed.
  • April 28th, 2025 – Voter registration deadline for new Oregon registrants to receive a ballot for the May 19th, 2026 Primary Election.
  • April 28th, 2025 – Party affiliation (party choice) deadline
    • Oregon has a closed primary system.

    • This means:
      • If you want to vote for a Democratic or Republican candidate, you must be registered with that party by April 28.
      • If you change your party after that date, it won’t apply to this primary
  • May 14th, 2026 – Last day for Lane County to mail ballots.
  • May 19th, 2026 – Election Day. Ballots must be postmarked by the United States Postal Service or returned to a drop box or elections office before 8 p.m. 
  • June 9th, 2026 – Last day to resolve ballot challenges.
  • June 15th, 2026 – Election certified. Elections office livestream concludes.  

The Elections Division has recently completed updating the candidate manual and SEL 101 candidate filing form. Due to recent legislative changes, please note that there has been a change to the filing deadline for incumbent candidates. If you are filing for re-election to a position, you have previously been elected to, the incumbent filing deadline is seven days earlier than the filing standard filing deadline. Incumbents who were appointed are subject to the same filing deadline as non-incumbent candidates. This does not apply to precinct committeepersons

Measure Arguments must be filed (including fee paid or petition signatures provided and verified) by noon on March 12th, 2026

Commissioner Position 5 - East Lane
Lane County Sheriff
Lane County Assessor
