I/DD Foster Licensing & Certification Transition
During the 2025 Oregon Legislative Session, the state
legislature passed a budget bill that shifts the responsibility for I/DD Child
and Adult Foster Licensing and Certification from local Community Developmental
Disabilities Programs (CDDPs), such as Lane County DDS, to the State Office of
Developmental Disabilities Services (ODDS). This change will take effect on January
1, 2026. Lane County DDS will continue to provide case management services to the people we mutually serve, and we remain committed to maintaining a strong and collaborative relationship with the foster provider community throughout this transition and into the future.
ODDS is leading this change and Lane County DDS will update this page as we receive more information and you will find links to the information shared by ODDS below.

Prospective Foster Provider Info
Thank you for your interest in becoming a foster provider in Lane County. We deeply appreciate your commitment to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community.
To prepare for the transition described above, the Lane County Foster Licensing Team will no longer be scheduling new foster provider orientations, effective immediately. While we expect ODDS to begin offering orientations starting in January 2026, we currently do not have further details to share. This page will be updated with additional details as it becomes available, but you are welcome to send your questions about this transition to ODDS, using this link.
We recognize that this may be disappointing news, especially for those of you ready to take the next step in becoming a foster provider. Your passion and willingness to serve make a tremendous difference, and we sincerely hope you will reconnect with ODDS in 2026 to continue your journey.
Thank you again for your understanding and your dedication to supporting individuals with I/DD.
