The Lane County HIV/STI Program aims to promote and protect the health of our community though integrated testing, case investigation, partner services, and outbreak response.

At this time, Lane County Public Health no longer offers “Just Checking” STI appointments. If you need help connecting to care, please reach out and we’d be happy to help.

Get Treated for an STI

If you test positive for an STI, it’s important to get treatment right away. If you need help finding treatment for you or your partner, call us at 541-682-4041.

To get treated for an STI:

If you don’t have insurance, you can visit the West 11th Lane County Community Health Center Clinic for a same-day appointment. The West 11th Clinic is a walk-in clinic that can offer sliding-scale services to the uninsured. This clinic offers reproductive healthcare, primary medical care, integrated behavioral healthcare, and OHP enrollment. When you walk-in they will enroll you as an established patient in order to provide care. Their address is 3321 W 11th Ave, Eugene, OR 97402. Their phone number is 541-682-6703.

Get Connected to HIV Care

HIV can be treated by taking medicine prescribed by your doctor. When taken correctly, this medicine can lower the amount of HIV in your body so much that tests can’t find it. This is called having an undetectable viral load. If your viral load is undetectable, you cannot pass HIV to other people. Get Emergency Medication (PEP) After an HIV or STI Exposure

PEP, or post-exposure prophylaxis, is an emergency medication you can take after you may have been exposed to HIV or another STI. If you think you’ve been exposed, it’s important to get medical care right away. The sooner you start PEP, the better it works.

If you need PEP:

  • Book a same-day appointment with your doctor.
  • Visit an urgent care location.
  • Visit the nearest emergency room.
